When I think of any kind of global + American vibe, I think of classic black. And no one wears black better then Kim K ... the brown skinned Barbie doll. It's never boring, flattering to every complexion and never wrong. Kim made hip/hop and fashion history when she and rap star husband Kanye West graced the cover of Vogue magazine as high society newly weds.
But, spring isn't here yet and in this season when you step out, black and gold is trending. Top secret information is that this year's Met Gala theme is Karl Lagerfeld (LBD) who was the prolific Chanel fashion director in the 80's....more fashion history. In October of 1926, Chanel featured the first 'little black dress" on the cover of Vogue.
What this means is, if you are trappin' you can't go wrong wearing an LBD when you step out. Just accessorize with gold and you are on point! L'Amor by Liat Moradi proved this with her 2023 runway show:
Love the SKIMS Your In!
For those of us who want to be Kim K, start by loving the SKIMS your in. Translation! We appreciate her all inclusive, line of comfy undies for every complexion! Can be found at Nordstrom's.
Private Luxury
I discovered by revelation that hair is the substratum of a black woman's identity. So if you are like the rest of us and want luxurious locs ... Try Rich Hair Care! This line of hair care products do deliver. I personally tried the Rich Argan Color Protect Therapy Mask and I loved it. I loved it because it actually used all of it ... like to a completely empty jar. It was that good! Beyond being good products, it epitomizes the future of trap life. Which means, If you trappin' you must take good care of your real hair.
Not So Classic Black
I'm not sure who Mountain Dew was throwing shade at with their new flavor Pitch Black. For people who have been persecuted because of their complexion, being call pitch black is definitely a byword (derogatory name). If you weren't all that dark, in past times, a black person was still a candidate for a tar and feathering with coal pitch. Therefore sisters, don't let insults like this stop your game. We live in a world where this is unavoidable. All lot of us are clinging to the philosophy that Black Lives Matter and Black is Beautiful ... so never being ashamed of the TRAP! ... or having a sugar sensitivity to diabetes.
