Ok so this is another food blog. I found a recipe that I just have to post. Just being honest, some people are trappin' in low income housing. I been there. I stayed in a one-room efficiency. I paid $205 a month starting out. But I had a full oven with a 4 burner range and a regular sized refrigerator.

I didn't have cable so I watched TBN night and day and old Sex in the City reruns for a balance.

Minister Jentzen Franklin was a regular on their Praise program so I decided to do the 21 day Daniel Fast from Daniel 10:2-3.

After this, I had a breakthrough. I roasted my first chicken in the oven. I was down to a few dollars and the grocers had a whole chicken for like $2.49. So I got that and an onion and put it in the oven. I thought I was going to mess it up. But I let it cook for almost an hour and it was done and very edible.

So if you have a full sized oven and a 4 burner range on top, ladies, lets take advantage of it, especially for this recipe below. This is a really decadent dish considering how easy it is to make. It's Beef Burgundy, yes it's fancy.

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees

  2. Spread 2 lbs of beef (round, shoulder or chuck roast) cubed in a 9 X 13 pan. (or place beef in a cast iron dutch oven.)

  3. Sprinkle on one package of Lipton dry onion soup mix on the beef.

  4. Pour the can of golden mushroom soup over the beef.

  5. Add one 4-4.5 oz jar or can of mushrooms with liquid, do not drain.

  6. Pour in one cup of burgundy wine. (if you can't find burgundy, a dark red wine will work)

  7. If you are using a 9 X 13 pan, cover with foil, and bake for 2 1/2 - 3 hours

8. Serve over wide egg noodles cooked according to the package. Add 1 tablespoon of butter while still hot.

9. Serve with the rest of the wine, a salad kit from the grocers and cheesecake. (find something easy and no-bake. The Cheesecake Factory had a box mix a while ago. Not on the shelves anymore)

If you need to do the 21 day fast. Below is the recipe guide from 2017. What got me through this fast was hash brown and salsa:
