I studied art in college, painting to be exact. I like the concept of eye-shadow and makeup brushes. Therefore my kingdom assignment according to (Esther 2:12) is to be a beauty consultant. One of my favorite quotes for this profession comes from Sister Souljah's book, "The Coldest Winter Ever:"

"When it came to shopping Momma had no mercy and that's the way Santiaga liked it. His woman was supposed to be the showstopper. Momma didn't work 'cause beauty, she said, was a full-time occupation that left no room for anything else.

It's so important to have a skincare regime. The 3 basic steps to skincare are:

  1. Cleanse

  2. Tone

  3. Moisturize

However, as a professional, I encourage my client to add 2 extra steps. One being using a serum, the other using a mask.

  1. Cleanse

  2. Tone

  3. Serum

  4. Moisturize

  5. Mask (once a week)

A serum will do wonders for the skin. Serums are full of concentrated anti-aging nutrients that are absorbed directly into the skin right before you moisturize. Here are 3 of the best serums for black skin.

Pearlessence Vitamin-C + Hyaluronic Acid. Dermatologists say that one of the main products that's good for black skin is vitamin-c. This serum has it along with hyaluronic acid which gives it extra moisturizing properties. $11.95 find it on Amazon. I saw this product at TJ Maxx. But finding it there may be a treasure hunt.

Mielle Pomegranate & Honey Revitalizing Face Serum. This product delivers a top-grade bang for the buck! I have this in my personal collection. It's a step you definitely don't want to skip. $20

Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Serum. This is for those who want to put their best face forward and be all the way Hollywood. We just love Lupita being the spokes model. $52-$150 at Ulta Beauty.
