Kim Does Fenty

Lil Kim did Fenty for Valentines Day. She definitely made Rihanna's lingerie line Savage X Fenty even cooler than it already was...as if that was possible. We all know from the song "Doing it Way Big" from her album, "La Bella Mafia", that Kim is a La Perla girl. Which means, she cant be wrong. Blonde hair and bubble gum pink, is never wrong!

This wouldn't be a real trap house blog if Lil Kim didn't get her props. So, her music should be good girlfriend talk sometimes. For me personally, her album "La Bella Mafia" is an all time classic. Maybe even a masterpiece. The intro and "Hold in Now" rides hard on repeat. The cypher style song "Beehive" may impress him. The song, "Get in Touch With Us" is "Hardcore" like her first album. There's nothing better than that New York flow on a Middle-Eastern sampled track:

"Biggie left me the torch so I'm holding it now,

You sick cuz I'm a B!+(h, and I'm holding it down."

Phenomenal women are not getting the discourse they deserve. People don't understand the depth of who Lil Kim is as a public figure and what she represents. Her music and her presence caused me to look beyond my circumstances. Between her music and the prosperity gospel, I knew I was living beneath my privileges. As an emergency room receptionist, I paced back and forth in my one room studio trying to figure out how I was going to get my hand on one of her watches. If you do not have measuring cups and spoons, please visit your local Dollar Tree and get these by Betty Crocker. They are really nice and measure accurately. In order to cook a recipe correctly, its important to use exact measurements. The cup with the handle is for liquid measurements. The red cups and spoons are for dry ingredients. The salmons sauce below is perfect when exact measurements are used.

DINNER TIME

Gotta have a grill so that you can make salmon for dinner. Try this recipe smothered in this easy but delicious salmon sauce over fish and potatoes. Serve with Chandon and Texas Toast.

Salmon

1 bag of frozen, skin on salmon fillets thawed

Directions:

1. Preheat grill to high.

2. Season fillets with oil, salt and pepper.

3. Grill salmon, skin side down for 8 minutes.

4. Turn the salmon over and cook another 2-4 minutes for medium rare or longer to desired doneness.

5. Transfer to a platter to rest for 1-2 minutes. Pour sauce over salmon and serve.

Sauce

2 stick of butter

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons of Dijon Mustard

2 tablespoons of minced garlic

2 teaspoons of ketchup

1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

Heat butter, soy sauce, mustard, garlic, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until butter is melted and sauce comes to a gentle simmer, about 10 minutes. Serve warm.
