Met Fabulous!

As a painter, it's an inspiration to me when celebrities party at a museum. It makes me feel like being an artist is actually cool. Which means, the Met Gala must be fun. It's definitely a society thing with a deliberate dress code and lavish expectations. Hip hop stars made the invite list and when it came to the "Gilded Age" theme, the ladies delivered!

The Gilded Age theme celebrates New York City's social history around the turn of the 20th century when the fashioned matched the wealth. We see this Victorian fashion in the HBO series, "The Gilded Age".

Cardi B was gilded from head to toe in a Versace chain link spectacular with matching gloves. Her hair was in a prim and proper up do framing her face.

Songstress Normani looked very Victorian goth in this black velvet 3 piece (including the hat) ensemble by Christian Siriano. Her abs definitely added to the overall look. When interviewed, she attributed her toned physique to Pilates. Let's all hit the local Five n Below and buy a Pilates Resistance Bar...Thanx Normani!

Hot Girl Meg was a golden girl on the red carpet. Her dress was by Moschino whose clothes are so youthful and fun. This dress was no exception with the angel wings shrug.

New York Strip Steak

New York strip steak was the main course served at the Met Gala this year. This kept within the New York Gilded Age theme. Try grilling this steak at home on an indoor grill.

• 3 to 4 Striploin Steaks

• 1 to 2 tablespoons Rub

• Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:

• Take your steak out about 30-60 minutes before grilling. (Room Temperature)

• Rub the marinade or rub over it.

• Preheat your grill to high heat, or medium if you're a "nervous griller".

• Right before you pop them on the grill season with the salt and pepper.

• Set the steaks on the grill and allow them to cook for about 4 to 6 minutes.

• Flip them over and cook for another 6 to 8 minutes.

• If you're going for a nice medium this should work well. If you want it more rare take a minute to two minutes off each side.

• Take the steaks off the grill, slap a little of your favorite barbecue sauce on them, and allow them to stand for about 5 or so minutes to let the juices do their thing.

For some of us, the Gilded Age is about that trap life as it relates to the Met Gala 2022. Around the holidays and on special occasions, this is what trap life looks like up north. Ladies, if you are trappin', it's ok to have a pull out grill.
