This blog is in dedication to the west coast trap! Because....when all is said and done....We back at it again! When I think of the west coast, I think of Old Hollywood. For a clear understanding, here is the definition of Old Hollywood:
Old Hollywood is an aesthetic surrounding the movies, music, and fashion popular from the 1930's to the 1960's. It's meant to draw you into a time before and forget about the current things happening, back into a time where everything felt simpler.
Translation: the west coast trap is all about GLAM! We got a glimpse of it on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood. Brook Valentine and Marcus black definitely made trappin' look fabulous.
If you want to trap Hollywood style, then be inspired!
First thing you want to do is add products from the Hollywood Hair Bar to your hair and bath collection. Not just because the bottles are fun and glamourous, but because they work. Hollywood Hair Bar is another top of the line, black owned hair company in the vane of Madame C.J. Walker. If you are trappin' west coast style, then these products should be a household name. Never be without a bottle of (at the very least) the growth serum on your dresser...if you want to start a personal journey to regrow your hair, Hollywood Hair Bar products are a great starting point.
Trap House
If you're trappin', then decorate with wrought iron and bling. This wrought iron chandelier is definite trap worthy:
For immediate gratification, Hobby Lobby has wrought iron inspired sconces at pocket change prices. Light your walls up with 2 of these 27 inch scone with led tea lights as directed:
Indoor palm trees celebrate the regional tropics so why not have one in your trap house?
This one right here is 5ft. Perfect for the corner.
For those of you don't have landlord issues, you want a glitter accent wall. It's definitely worth the effort. Rust oleum has a line of glitter wall paint for a cheaper and professional job. However, the video below shows how to do it the hard way.
If you have landlord issues, then the solution glitter wall art like below. Canvas glitter painting are really FUN DIY's for when you have a lot on your mind.
Old Hollywood Meets the South
I'm not pushing flowers as much as I'm pushing the trap in the south. Speaking of accent walls, these floral by Hollywood royalty Drew Barrymore are wonderful stick and peel wallpapers. If you trappin' in the south, you don't have wallpaper the whole room...it's too busy, just do one wall with a bold modern floral and coordinate with decor.
