Covid 19 changed a lot of things. The world suffered a pandemic and we all remember staying at home and our favorite restaurants being closed. Now that the world is returning back to normal, a lot of restaurants haven't been quite as receptive to trappers coming in and dining.

Someone was quoted, "They [trappers] don't need to be sitting up in these nice restaurants with all that gold teeth in their mouth." (I personally disagree)

There seems to be a lot of fear. "the atmosphere in the entire restaurants seems to change," and these businesses don't want to lose their regular patrons.

When you are trappin', skills include making restaurant quality food at home. Trap life has its roots in a gangster lifestyle when things were over the top and ghettofabulous. However, trap life is about evolving and being more high-end...but no one wants to believe anything like that.

Cooking can be a rush especially when it's Italian pasta. Trap life revolves around the kitchen, just like the heart of any home. I like to repeat this saying, pots and should be as pimped out as possible. If you don't have a nice set of pots and pans go to Walmart and spend $79.99 - $ 150 on a set. The Thyme and Table Non-Stick Rainbow pot and pan set below is perfect for $89.99

When you get this pot and pan set, then you can make the hood version of Buca di Beppo's spicy chicken rigatoni in a traditional rosa sauce.

4-5 boneless skinless chicken breast

salt and pepper to taste

1 lb of rigatoni pasta

1 jar of marinara sauce

1 jar of alfredo sauce

2 tbsp minced garlic

Crushed red pepper flakes

1 cup of frozen peas

Directions:

  1. Heat grill to high. Season chicken breast with salt and pepper. Grill chicken until cooked through. 6-7 minutes per side.

  2. Cook pasta according to directions in a large pot. Drain in a colander and set aside.

  3. Add marinara sauce to the large pot on low heat.

  4. Add garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. NOTE: The amount of red pepper flakes you add at this step determines the spiciness of the dish.

  5. Cut chicken breast into bite sized pieces and add to the large pot.

  6. Add alfredo sauce.

  7. Return pasta to the large pot and stir.

  8. Add 1 cup of peas.

  9. Turn heat to medium high until warmed through and serve with garlic bread.
