The Summer Skirt

I'm a huge Pioneer Woman fan and I can go on and on about the kitchenware she puts on the shelves. In her recent self-titled magazine, she put together some trap worthy outfits for this summer. She makes class affordable. If you don't believe me, just check out her new floral ankle boot.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, this summer's style is about sports shorts and tank tops and Ree found them in the Timberland brand.
Good fitting shorts are great but sometimes you want to wear a skirt. Sundresses can be risky because of the attention they attract. So once again, Ree had the solution and it involved a white tee. Before I continue, I have to share this video to emphasize how "bossed up" this outfit is. I know this is old skool, but ... that's the whole point.
A White tee is standard street gear. If there's a corner store that sells them, you can make it on any given day, especially if you are a man. Another clothing item that's usually a curiosity is a tennis skirt. The tennis skirt became popular in the 1920's and they wore them longer back then. Since then its been a preppy stereotype. However, the Pioneer Woman combined the tennis skirt with the white tee and it's street style perfection.
The outfit consists of a midtown skirt which has an inner short just in case there is a wardrobe malfunction. The skirt is worn best with a basic white tee or white tank top and of course some drip like this 5-Piece Jewelry Set.
