Valentines is definitely the day to rock red hair and diamonds and be seen. A great reason to party. Speaking of bling, we just love how females are doing things. Trina recently launched a jewelry line of fun and classy pieces. People still stunt. The game hasn't changed. She even has a line of bridal tiaras like this "Majesty" headpiece. https://laverne.store/



Tassel earrings haven't run their course yet and these gold plated "Kandi" earrings are definitely glitzy.



This is definitely turning into a cooking blog but, we all got to eat. Also, you want to have authority in your kitchen. You want things under control and this takes sophistication. This Valentines day the menu is seafood and steak. Start things off with sushi from Kroger's. It's good and affordable.


Ribeye steak in a "Red Wine Mushroom Sauce" is on the menu. Serve this over Idaho loaded instant potatoes. However an easier option is the beef burgundy recipe I posted in another blog right here: https://aularale1231.wixsite.com/traphouseministries/post/colonial-food


Ribeye Steaks


Directions:

1. Generously season both sides of your ribeye steaks with salt and pepper and let sit at room temperature until ready to cook. At least 30 minutes.


2. Heat grill to medium. Grill steaks for 5 minutes on each side for medium rare...or longer if desired. Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.



Mushroom sauce


1 tbsp unsalted butter

1 small shallot thinly sliced

9 oz bag sliced mushrooms

1/2 cup of red wine

1/4 cup beef broth/stock (can be made from a bullion cube)

1/3 cup heavy cream


Directions:


  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add shallot and mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes.

  3. Add red wine and beef broth. Simmer until liquid is reduced or evaporated by half.

  4. Turn off heat, stir in heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour over steaks and potatoes.
