America has gone "farmhouse" and sisters are not to be left out. Farmhouse living is nostalgic and comforting. It's a great way to create a peaceful living space and display personal creativity.
Farmhouse is about borrowing and revisiting the past. A good example is the intoxicating Gullah culture in the movie, "Daughters of the Dust." Farmhouse also includes the leftovers of plantation life from the antebellum south.
If you are a "Southern Belle", Black American Princess (BAP) love neo soul and decide that farmhouse living is for you, then farmhouse becomes officially "bougie". And we like that.
