Sanctification is a spiritual process that you can experience through your sorority house. Sanctification is a cleansing of the spirit. People sanctify themselves in various ways. However, if you are a member of a "Divine Nine" sorority, you can sanctify yourself for a new season in life by respecting your house colors.

When you graduate from college, you enter a new season in life, the professional world. Even if you made excellent grades and completed internships, you can find the transition to the "real world" to be difficult. Beyond the frat parties and step shows, when faced with uncertainty, the promises of your sorority house should be something you can cling to.

There are certain steps you can take to spiritually prepare for a new season, if you embrace what your sorority house represents from a farmhouse perspective, you will have a more clear vision and a better sense of identity.

1. Wear housecoat dusters and headscarves in your sorority colors. When I was a young girl, I know I heard someone call housecoat dusters, convalescent gowns. For a long time, that what I thought they were called. Convalescence is the process of healing and recovery. Sometimes you need a season of spiritual recovery before embracing a new reality.

2. Wear kente cloth in your sorority colors. Headscarves, pillows, curtains and skirts. African Americans are sometimes  criticized for joining a "Greek" organization. Beautiful African cloths that reflect your sorority colors is the perfect solution.

3. Purchase a tallit or biblical prayer shawl in your sorority colors. These days, Jewish prayer shawls are made available for New Testament Christian believers. If you are seeking a deeper spiritual connection to the God of the universe, you need a deeper prayer life. For a better understanding read this download: Secrets of the Prayer Shawl; The Tallit.

4. Organize your sorority paraphernalia. Find a special place in your home to keep all the wonderful sorority paraphernalia you received  over the years. Use functional items like water bottles, ink pens and note books. The best way to wear your beloved varsity cardigan in real life is with your favorite jeans and gym shoes.

5. Invest in a good set of pots and pans. Even if you have landed a six figure job at the entry level, you want to learn how to cook and "own your kitchen." Make cooking fun by blessing yourself with a box of diamond dishes. The none stick coating on these dishes is infused with "millions of diamonds." The only cool set for the "Divine Nine."

DIY DETOX FOOT SOAK

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Pour your warm water (as warm as you can tolerate) into a basin of your choosing, that is large enough for your feet and the water without causing overflow. Do not fill your basin all the way to the top, or it will spill over when you rest your feet in. I would recommend that you do not use a metal bowl, as this may reduce the effectiveness of the bentonite clay.

  2. Add your Epsom salts, bentonite clay, apple cider vinegar, essential oils and herbs of your choosing to the water. Mix together to allow the salts to dissolve.

  3. Soak your feet for approximately 20 minutes (Yay if you can get 20 minutes of foot soaking time - you girls know what I'm talking about)
