The reason why so many of the blogs are about hair is because many facets of a black woman's life revolve around her hair; for example swimming. Growing up I had a perpetual press and curl, so swimming only happened once or twice an entire summer. And yes, after a day of fun at the lake, I was back on the kitchen sink, a bottle of Cream of Nature Conditioning shampoo on the counter. When I did take swimming lessons, I wore a swimming cap. Which is what I will continue to wear.

During the 90's when French Rolls were popular, it was rumored that a lot of black women's sex lives suffered because they didn't want to mess up their "do." If rain was in the forecast, outside events were canceled, or a sister was a "no show." Many parents regardless of income, budgeted visits to the salon for their daughters even if they didn't buy them the latest clothes. And if salon visits were in budget, you didn't touch your hair. The paid for hairstyle had to last. Therefore when a young girl went to college, she finally had the opportunity to touch her hair, but, didn't know where to begin.

Hair dressers made good money and black hair has been big business since Madame C. J. Walker's success during the late 1800's. She opened the door for so many black women in the hair industry. Now days, black women are continuing the legacy she began by launching haircare lines, and I believe that the harvest is still plentiful.

We secretly all look up to stars and Beyonce is one of them. Her music sings for itself. She has put out two fashion lines, several perfume fragrances now she's entered the hair business. She's using her name to sell her products and evidently, its worth it. Beyonce is on the cover of the April 2024, Essence Magazine talking about hair.
Hair is Cecred to Beyonce. The packaging reminds me of ancient temple ruins evoking feelings that go all the way back to BC times. The items are pricy but not unaffordable. People treat high end products like this a certain way. They buy them to support someone, even their favorite star but don't have enough faith to actually use them consistently. The mindset is; "I'll never have hair like Beyonce, real or otherwise," so the products just sit on the shelf. Even if the bottles just sit on the shelf, these are still good products. The product I find most interesting is the Fermented Rice and Rose Bundle. The fermented rice and rose comes in powder form. It's a protein treatment that comes in packets that's added to water in a spray bottle or the ancient bottle you can buy online. I also love deep conditioning masks, I'm sure hers is awesome.
