Zoe Saldana won a SAG award and a Golden Globe for best supporting actress in the movie "Emilia Perez". Congratulations to the Dominican if you ever wonder about her ethnicity.

For some of us, the black experience was a political platform of criticism geared towards the community. One of them was that African-Americans are overly materialistic. Statics proved this indicating that African-Americans were the number one consumers in the country. Some of us heard this repeatedly on local black radio and the like.

Blacks were criticized for the lack of home ownership but the purchasing of flashy vehicles. The primary being a Cadillac; a car in which that even retired African-Americans invested their pensions.

This is one of the reasons driving the "Economic Blackout" planned for February 28, 2025 at the end of Black History Month. On this new "Black Friday" minorities are challenged to a one day fast from spending at major retailers because of the lack of diversity support.

Major retailer like Walmart and Target are being boycotted. As you can see from the video above, consumerism is an issue. However, we understand how a sister can quickly become a product junkie. We love Zoe's hair. It won't hurt to check out the Dominican Forbidden Hair Oil with black cumin seed by Bomba Curls good for all types of hair.

Race driven boycotts recall the civil rights movement. Certain songs like Sam Cooke's "A Change Gone Come" evoke feelings of nostalgia. This boycott, which officially lasts until June, needs a soundtrack. This is good time revisit album's like Outkast's "Stankonia" and The "Miseducation of Lauren Hill".

Lauryn Hill was always celebrated for being a natural sister. We loved her dreadlocks. However if you have dense low porosity hair like hers, The Kiss Argan and Macadamia line will work wonders.

This time around, we appreciate songs like her heady heartbreak banger with Mary J. Blige, "I Used to Love Him.
